On the count of three

2024

4K video, 13’20, colour, sound, 2024

A meditation on hotel, as a site, an allegory, and a passing volatile state of being, On the count of three cast a hotel as a multifaceted, omnipresent witness to a full spectrum of human activity. The film unravels through a series of dream-like vignettes that weave allegory, fiction, and histories of place, punctuated by prompts and scores that blur the lines between care, hospitality, and authoritarian impulses.
