On the count of three

4K video, 13’20, colour, sound, 2024
On the count of three (2024) moves between archival material, staged scenes, and dream-like vignettes to consider the hotel as both site and allegory. Structured in segments that echo the architecture and choreography of a hotel, the film moves through spaces shaped by hospitality, transience, regulation, and sleep, while a series of gestures and instructions shift between service, accommodation, discipline, and submission. The hotel becomes a structure through which broader questions of land, occupation, displacement, and colonial modernity are approached indirectly: as a place designed to receive bodies temporarily, organize their movement, and render a territory available to be entered, inhabited, and left behind.
